Potential Risks

During your initial consultation with your surgeon, you will discuss the potential risks of surgery as well as the benefits to allow you to make an informed decision if bariatric surgery is right for you.

Below are some of the surgical risks, however it's important to understand that your surgeon would not perform a bariatric operation on you if they felt the risks of surgery were higher than the risks of staying obese:

  • Cardiovascular problems (heart attack or stroke)
  • Pneumonia
  • Wound infection
  • Blood clots or pulmonary embolus
  • Intestinal obstruction
  • Bleeding
  • Injury to nearby organs
  • Death

Long term weight loss varies for each patient and will depend on your commitment to the diet and lifestyle changes, however by choosing the Reset Center you have the advantage of:

  • Experienced Surgeons
  • Exceptional Nursing care
  • Trained bariatric nutritionist and registered dietitian
  • Ongoing educational classes and support groups
